Shop with a local mit Anne Demierre Schlaeppi.

Anne Demierre Schlaeppi is originally from French-speaking Switzerland and has lived in Basel for over 30 years. She has come to know and love the city.

“In my spare time, I enjoy browsing through the shops and I like to buy clothes and home accessories that are made in Switzerland. Most of these shops are in the Old Town of Basel, which offers an ideal combination of shopping and sights. I also like to visit the Kunstmuseum or the Museum der Kulturen, as well as the Papiermühle in the charming St. Alban district. These museums have a range of great gift ideas and hand-made paper products. I’d love to show you the many delightful shops and interesting places in Basel.”

Shop with a local mit Diana Blank.

Diana Blank was born and raised in Basel. She lives in the Old Town and enjoys the village-like feel of the narrow alleys as well as having a range of shops, boutiques, restaurants and museums on her doorstep.

“I work in an international team in a research institute at the University of Basel. I like being creative in my spare time. I took courses in sculpture and jewellery-making at the School of Design in Basel. Several years ago, a great fabric store motivated me to make my own clothes. I love walking through the streets and being inspired by the local and international fashion shops in Basel. In summer, I like going to one of the many buvettes along the Rhine. The perfect end to a day of shopping is with a delicious drink at a summer bar.”
