Galerie Katapult
Sankt Johanns-Vorstadt 35, 4056 Basel
Artists show their solidarity with the youth of the global south, who struggle for an existential minimum in politically unstable countries.
Veranstaltungsdetails
The art exhibition 'Horizons' aims to open our eyes to new horizons, visually and through new insights. We hope to raise funds for the development organization Horyzon, which supports socially disadvantaged youth in Colombia, Haiti, Palestine, South Sudan and Uganda. Horyzon has been committed to helping young people affected by violence, poverty and exclusion for over 50 years.
The exhibition features abstract paintings, photographs, figurative works, photo collages, ink drawings and sculptures by artists from England, India, Italy, Japan, South Africa and Switzerland. These artists express their global solidarity with the vulnerable youth of the global South, who struggle for an existential minimum in politically unstable countries.
With this initiative, we hope to support the positive development of young people in difficult life situations as well as artists who themselves have had to struggle with the pandemic. The workshops will be held in English and German, with translations into other languages as needed.
Vernissage on 12.3.2022
