Foyer Public

Theater Basel has opened its foyer to the public! In the Foyer Public, you can meet friends, sit together, relax in your own company, read, play cards, work, craft ... or simply stroll through the foyer on your way from the train station to the city centre or vice versa: you can use the main entrance from Theaterplatz or the entrance behind the Elisabethenkirche.

The Foyer Public transforms Theater Basel into a public, cultural and social space in the heart of the city. Here visitors will find a children’s play corner, workspaces with power sockets and Wi-Fi, and a branch of the GGG City Library that can be used for free. The Foyer Public is a non-commercialised space and doesn’t charge any entry fee. Each Wednesday from 3.00 pm, children can enjoy a special entertainment programme.
