If you are spending a few days in Basel, make sure to visit the Swiss Alps, the Black Forest and Alsace.

Lucerne and Pilatus (Swiss Alps)

Visit Lake Lucerne and Mount Pilatus by boat, cogwheel railway and gondola. Stop at the peak of Mount Pilatus where alpine vistas await, or only 90 minutes from Basel, you can visit Mount Titlis, the highest excursion mountain in Central Switzerland, and its glacier paradise.

Visit Lucerne, the city of lights on Lake Lucerne, and take a trip to Pilatus, Lucerne’s local mountain. By boat you cross the lake to Alpnachstad, where the steepest rack railway in the world awaits you. After a 30-minute ride, you will enjoy a wonderful panorama on Pilatus. And with a bit of luck, you might spot ibexes and marmots among the rocks or eagles and mountain jackdaws in the air.

The Black Forest (Germany)

Cuckoo clocks, Bollenhut hats, Black Forest farms and Black Forest gateau – the Black Forest is the epitome of a homely German holiday destination.

Drive through the vineyards to Freiburg. On a tour you will pass impressive architectural monuments as well as the typical brooks, as the small watercourses at the roadside are called here. After lunch in a traditional restaurant continue to drive through the Black Forest to Titisee. At Titisee you have the opportunity to go on a boat trip on the lake depending upon season or you can stroll by Titisee Neustadt and visit the numerous shops with the well-known Black Forest cuckoo clocks.

Alsace (France)

Experience the beauty of the Alsace region on a day trip. Visit Colmar and Eguisheim. Explore the fortified town of Riquewihr and follow the Wine Route with the Haut Koenigsbourg Castle.

Drive along the French wine road to Colmar. An enchanting journey through hilly vineyards and flower-decorated villages awaits you. Take a guided tour through the beautiful Alsatian town of Colmar. On the way back, drive to the medieval towns of Riquewihr and Eguisheim, at the foot of the Vosges, and visit a traditional winery. During a guided tour followed by a wine tasting, you will get to know the Alsatian wines. For lunch, we recommend a typical Alsatian restaurant.
