Uzbekistan Art and Culture Development Talk: Building Cultural Bridges
A conversation on connecting Uzbekistan's living heritage with the contemporary world.
A conversation on connecting Uzbekistan's living heritage with the contemporary world. Rooted in Bukhara's two-thousand-year legacy as a crossroads of civilisation, the Bukhara Biennial has grown into a platform for cultural exchange, bridging art, craft, and creative practice across borders. The session explores how the Uzbekistan Art and Culture Development Foundation (ACDF) can act as a living connector, weaving together traditional craftsmanship, contemporary art, and creative disciplines into a shared language for today's global conversations.
Join Gayane Umerova, Chairperson of ACDF and Founder of the Bukhara Biennial, Chris Dercon, Managing Director of the Fondation Cartier pour l'Art Contemporain, and Kulapat Yantrasast, Founder and Creative Director of WHY Architecture, as they explore how heritage and innovation, local identity and international dialogue, and the Silk Road's past can shape a creative future. Moderated by Alia Al-Senussi, Senior Cultural Advisor.
The talk will be held in English.
