"The Host and The Cloud" takes place in a former ethnographic museum (Musée des Arts et Traditions Populaires) and on the grounds of a historic amusement park outside Paris, and unfolds as a one-year live experiment recorded over three symbolic days: All Saints’ Day, Valentine’s Day and 1 May. By combining unstaged actions, roleplays, rituals and beliefs, Pierre Huyghe creates a surreal cinematic world that engages with politics, science and social influences as well as the fluid boundaries between reality and fiction.
The film screening will take place as part of the Pierre Huyghe exhibition at the Fondation Beyeler.
At 6 p.m., Mouna Mekouar, curator of the Pierre Huyghe exhibition at the Fondation Beyeler, will give an introduction to the film and the artist. The introduction will be held in English.
