The Fondation Beyeler is celebrating summer and art with a diverse summer festival and musical highlights. The museum, the Kunst Raum Riehen, and the park will be open all day.
The museum is hosting a new exhibition by Pierre Huyghe, one of the most innovative contemporary artists. The collection presentation “Various Signs” accompanies the exhibition with works that each explore signs and meaning in their own unique way. The art education program offers art talks and introductions, interactive family tours, and workshops where you can make casts of natural structures, design masks, or create an ecosystem in a jar.
The town of Riehen invites visitors to linger and do crafts by the fountain with games and fruit, while Kunst Raum Riehen offers an exciting workshop on the theme of “Tactile,” where you can build, feel, and explore a tactile landscape. The reading corner, stocked with children’s books and comics from the Riehen Library, offers a space for quiet moments, and throughout the afternoon, short pop-up choir concerts featuring the women’s choir “Les Vagabondes” will enrich the festival.
The musical highlight of this year’s summer festival is Casey Spooner, a U.S. artist and performer known as one half of the legendary electroclash duo Fischerspooner. His performance combines pulsating beats, striking visuals, and a powerful stage presence: captivating, glamorous, and intimate with the audience.
The summer festival is generously supported by the municipality of Riehen and organized in collaboration with the Riehen Cultural Office and Kunst Raum Riehen.
