Sich einmischen: Die künstlerische Praxis von Celia & Nathalie Sidler
Kaserne Basel
Kasernenhof 8, 4058 Basel
In «Rastär», Celia & Nathalie Sidler highlight women farmers in the Bergell. At a participatory table, visitors unpack, taste, listen to and discuss recent works. Moderated by Stefanie Manthey.
In everyday life, the functions and values of raw materials such as milk, grain, and sugar vary. How they and by whom are cultivated, processed into food and sold, is a rich cultural heritage. Celia & Nathalie Sidler work as artists with cycles, processes, and production methods, in particular components such as packaging. Starting from social interactions, they seek ways to change, interrupt, and diversify existing structures. Through their artistic work, they intervene in everyday contexts, establishing connections between people and narratives.
In their current project "Rastär" for the Biennale Bregaglia, they shift the focus towards the perspectives of women farmers in the Bergell. People are invited to join a participatory event at the discussion and performance table, where recent examples of the artists’ practice will be unpacked, listened to, tasted, and contextualized together based on shared experience.
Moderated by Stefanie Manthey
