The ad·petram ensemble and Josef Laming perform Bach’s “Der Herr denket an uns” and Telemann’s “Singet dem Herrn.” Also featured is Bach’s partita “Sei gegrüsset, Jesu gütig” on the Metzler organ.
The ad·petram ensemble presents two gems of Baroque cantata literature: Bach’s solemn prayer for blessing, “Der Herr denket an uns” (BWV 196), and Telemann’s jubilant hymn of praise, “Singet dem Herrn.” The centerpiece of the concert is Bach’s organ masterpiece “Sei gegrüsset, Jesu gütig” (BWV 768), whose eleven variations showcase both the rich tonal palette of the Metzler organ in Mariastein and the diversity of Bach’s compositional artistry.
