The mission of Basel Tourism

Basel Tourism works closely with the relevant authorities, its partners in the tourism industry and other stakeholders to promote tourism in Basel and the surrounding region.

The Basel Tourism association is responsible for:

  • Basic tourism advertising, promoting and raising the profile of the Basel region’s brand at home and abroad
  • Creating resources and deals for tourists and services for individual guests as well as business travellers, conference attendees and those engaging in travel offered as an incentive
  • Opening of distribution channels for interested partners
  • Sales of tourism products and services to individual guests and travel operators
  • Information and referral services at the Tourist Information office, online and by telephone
  • Preparing tourism market data to inform its own and its members’ decisions
  • Representation of tourism interests to the outside world and active participation on Basel’s behalf in marketing that spans target groups
