Open church of St. Elisabeth (Elisabethenkirche)
A pastoral care centre, concert hall, party venue and exhibition space in one, the Elisabethenkirche considers itself to be Switzerland’s first “city church” and is open to all.
Beschreibung
The Elisabethenkirche in Basel city centre is no ordinary church, hosting events such as fashion shows, company banquets, panel discussions on current affairs and laying on of hands performed by healers under the supervision of a minister. Constructed between 1857 and 1865 as the first Protestant church to be built in Basel since the Reformation, it now acts as a cultural meeting place for people from all walks of life, regardless of their origins, race or religion. Looking for an unusual venue for your next company event? The Elisabethenkirche can be hired out for banquets, workshops and large team events.
