Visit artists in their ateliers in Basel

Descrizione

How many artists live in a city like Basel? Where is art created, and in what sort of environment do artists work? Basel is not only famed for its prestigious institutions and their important collections and exhibitions, but is also home to a vibrant and highly active community of artists. The city attracts artists through its rich cultural life, its internationally acclaimed Academy of Art and Design, and its numerous studios and exhibition spaces.

Cities such as New York, and Paris before it, were chosen by artists as centres in which to live and create, thereby making them world-famous. Although Basel has also been shaped by its artists, their creative endeavours often remain hidden. Take a look behind the scenes and discover the places in our city where art is brought to life.

Our unique guided tour allows you to view artists’ studios, talk with artists and gain direct insights into their working practices. You will also have the opportunity to ask them questions and find out more about the creative process.

The tour is suitable for children aged 12 or above and can also be booked by private groups.
