How about a helping of Basel culture before your Sunday brunch? Take a walk with us from the picturesque cathedral square through the historical alleys of the old town to the St. Alban district, which is steeped in legend. This lovingly restored area is criss-crossed with small canals, and has been rightfully nicknamed "Little Venice" by the residents of Basel. Here you will find both history and the modern day, with old half-timbered houses and contemporary architecture.
You will finish the tour at the Basel Paper Mill in the heart of St. Alban-Tal. This impressive museum is located in the rooms of an old mill, which is a protected historic monument. The museum's own Restaurant Café Papiermühle will welcome you for a delicious Sunday brunch.
The brunch includes breads and plaited loaves baked on the premises, cheese and meat, fresh yogurt and honey muesli and fruit salad, eggs, bacon and sausages, house-made antipasti and jams, and honey from the Basel area. One hot drink is included per person.
Tip: Afterwards, why not discover the long-forgotten crafts of paper production and printing. At the Basel Paper Mill you can make your own paper, write with a goose quill or ink pen, or type on an ancient typewriter.
