TechBrunch: Hacking!
The workshop provides insights into the technologies that will shape the future and shows creative ways of using them.
Veranstaltungsdetails
Are you curious about the technologies shaping our future - like chatbots, hacking, quantum computers, or NFTs - and want to learn how to use them creatively? Then TechBrunch is for you! As part of the MESH festival, this edition of TechBrunch focuses on the fascinating world of hacking, led by cybersecurity expert Thomas Spinnler.
We’ve all seen the cinematic scenes: with just a few keystrokes, the hacker sidekick cracks into top-level security systems. But what does hacking really look like? In this workshop, Thomas Spinnler, a cybersecurity specialist with decades of experience, will pull back the curtain. You'll learn how to think like a hacker, explore the cybersecurity landscape, and gain insights into protecting yourself in the digital age.
We’ll kick things off with an introduction to hacking and cybersecurity across both private and commercial sectors. From there, Spinnler will guide you through the core elements of cybersecurity, with a special focus on demystifying hacking. One key takeaway will be understanding how human error plays a role in cyber threats, including "social hacking" techniques like phishing emails—something we’ve all encountered. But what about more sophisticated attacks? This session is your opportunity to ask all the burning questions you've ever had about the hacker's toolkit.
The workshop also includes a hands-on component where you'll get to test your skills in a simulated hacking environment. By the end, you'll have a deeper understanding of how to secure your networks, devices, and accounts—and you might just debunk those over-the-top Hollywood hacker scenes in the process!
TechBrunch workshops, hosted six times a year, are led by makers, artists, and computer scientists, offering an engaging look into various media and tech topics. Whether you're a technophile or a curious beginner, you'll leave each session inspired and equipped with knowledge you can use in your creative projects, work, or personal tech setup.
