Sound Garden with Siselabonga
Siselabonga’s music is a kaleidoscopic blend of acoustic and electronic sounds – an impressive overall picture that unfolds vividly, sensually and transcendentally.
Siselabonga’s music is a kaleidoscopic blend of acoustic and electronic sounds – an impressive overall picture that unfolds vividly, sensually and transcendentally. Initiated by Swiss percussionist Fabio Meier, the project combines West African rhythms with soul, hip-hop and futuristic electronica to create a unique texture of sound. In the Fondation Beyeler’s Sound Garden, the pulsating beats of Meier’s drumset merge with spherical synthesiser sounds and the warm, expressive voice of South African singer Nongoma Ndlovu. Anyone who listens to their music is moved, whether in mind, body or both. The band name "Siselabonga" – a neologism from the French "si, c’est bon" and "siyabonga" in Zulu – says it all: "Yes, that’s great. Thank you."
The concert series will take place every Wednesday* between 6 and 8 p.m. from 25 June to 10 September 2025.
Venue: the pavilion in the park
