Sound Garden: "Resonance" with Anna de Pahlen and Mimi Xu
As part of this year’s Sound Garden at the Fondation Beyeler, Anna de Pahlen and Mimi Xu invite you to an immersive sonic experience attuned to 136.
As part of this year’s Sound Garden at the Fondation Beyeler, Anna de Pahlen and Mimi Xu invite you to an immersive sonic experience attuned to 136.1 Hz – a frequency linked to the Earth’s natural resonance. This vibrational tone activates a biophysical feedback loop in which sound shapes not only perception but also gently recalibrates the body’s internal rhythms.
Blending electronic performance, meditation, and heightened sensory awareness, the two-hour journey unfolds as sound becomes space, breath becomes rhythm, and connection is not only felt – but heard.
Structured in five seamlessly interwoven chapters – from Intention Setting and Sonic Invocation to Seated Meditation, Moving into Presence, and Awakening through Dance – the performance creates a ritual environment where vibration becomes a shared language.
This special edition of Sound Garden is not simply a concert, but an invitation to embody sound – a transformative ritual at the crossroads of art, science, and inner exploration.
The concert series will take place every Wednesday* between 6 and 8 p.m. from 25 June to 10 September 2025.
Venue: the pavilion in the park
Admission: free, no advanced booking required
