Discursive guided tour in German through the exhibition «L'Échapée Belle – A Digital Escape».
Every Sunday at 15:00 we offer a discursive guided tour of our current exhibition in German.
The exhibition «L'Échapée Belle – A Digital Escape» features artists from the trinational region who explore the impact of digital transformation on our perception of freedom and reality. Their works present visionary, often utopian scenarios that encourage us to question the connections between technology, the environment, and human experience. Through interactive and immersive installations, they invite us to explore alternative pathways and open our imaginations to new forms of escape and self-determination.
We live in a hyper-connected world, where technology is largely controlled by multinational tech corporations (Google, Apple, etc.) and their market-driven ideologies. The production, use, and disposal of electronic devices are creating increasing environmental problems. It is therefore crucial that we continue the search for new solutions to break free from this vicious cycle. At the same time, we should take time to appreciate what truly brings us happiness in life and cherish our connection to nature.
The artistic dimension of technology, which is both a poison and a remedy, can inspire new ways of thinking or even offer a potential escape. The works presented in this exhibition allow us to leave gravity behind – in every sense of the word. Along with acoustic and visual experiences, we also encounter tangible alternatives in sculptural form.
