During ESC 2025, the main post office in Basel will become a pop-up bar & restaurant - operated by Groupe-oniro with restaurant & bar service, open daily from 5 pm, bar freely accessible.

As part of the Eurovision Song Contest 2025, the city of Basel is opening the doors of a very special place from May 10 to 23: the current construction site of the main post office in the heart of the city will be transformed into a lively pop-up bar and temporary restaurant for two weeks.
As host of the ESC, Basel invites the international fan community to rediscover this historic location. Groupe-oniro, known for its creative interim uses in the neighboring Post-Passage, will enliven the location with an experienced crew every day from 5 pm. The pop-up is run by the team from the restaurant zur Mägd, which combines atmosphere and enjoyment with authentic Italian cuisine and an atmospheric bar.
While the bar is open to all visitors, dinner tickets for the restaurant can be booked online in advance - a culinary highlight for ESC fans and residents alike.
This temporary activation is part of the larger goal of re-establishing the main post office as a lively part of the city center in the long term - as a meeting place with a high quality of stay. Especially at a time when Europe's attention is focused on Basel, the temporary use offers a foretaste of the future reopening of the historic building in 2026.
