Veranstaltungsdetails
In her composition my plans, the Australian-Lebanese composer Katia Geha explores the to-do list of a little girl. This list was written in a war zone in 2023. It contains everything this girl plans to do as soon as the war is over: for example, ordering food for thirty days, watching TV until late at night and always going wherever she wants. Together with the KlangLab Ensemble, this discussion has resulted in a piece that deals with the possibilities and the privilege of being able to do what you feel drawn to. Be it ordering food or creating art.
After the concert, KlangLab invites you to join in a moderated discussion between the composer, musicians and you, the audience.
KlangLab works in the field of new and experimental music in close collaboration with changing composers on the development of pieces, some of which initiate installative moments or are site-specific.
The name "KlangLab" focuses on the creation and rehearsal process that precedes the individual compositions and performances. The musical material provided by the composer is tested and modified by the musicians during the joint working phase until a common idea emerges between the ensemble members and the composer. The ensemble sees this creative exchange as a sound laboratory that provides space for joint musical experimentation. In order to open up this space for the audience, a post-concert discussion takes place after each concert where musicians, composers and the audience can exchange ideas.
