Fantasy - an exhibition for discovery and participation
Bürgerhaus Pratteln
Hauptstrasse
 29, 4133 Pratteln
What is imagination? What do we need to be imaginative? The exhibition takes you on a journey into the realm of the senses, imagination, creativity, art and stories.
Event details
What is fantasy? What images arise in the mind when we close our eyes? How do we get really creative and what scents and sounds stimulate the imagination? What are fantasy creatures and in which fictional world would you like to live?
Fantasy can open up strange worlds for us, compensate for things that are denied to us in reality. It can give us pleasure and frighten us. Fantasy worlds are everywhere in our everyday lives: in literature, in films, games or at festivals.
More than 100 children from Prattler schools and kindergartens participated in the exhibition and gave free rein to their imagination. The results are unique works ranging from paintings, sculptures, diorama and haptic boxes to film projects and podcasts.
Four themed stations highlight aspects of the human imagination in an entertaining and interactive way: Creativity, Imagination, Senses and Stories. Various hands-on stations invite visitors to playfully engage with their own imagination.
More than 100 children from six different classes and kindergartens from Pratteln participated in the exhibition. The result is a diverse mix of pictures, sculptures, diorama and haptic boxes to marvel at and touch, through to film and audio projects.
Small boxes contain objects that awaken memories or inspire conversation. Here the focus is on playful, figurative and fabulous, mysterious and inventions that have perhaps long since been forgotten. Selected pictures show photos from Pratteln, which stimulate the imagination.
Always open: Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 5 pm.
Attention, not open during the school vacations of Canton Baselland, i.e. from 1.7. to 13.8.2023 as well as from 30.9. to 15.10.2023.
