The collection presentation accompanying the "Vija Celmins" exhibition at the Fondation Beyeler is entirely dedicated to painting. Works by Pablo Picasso and Mark Rothko are exhibited in various artist rooms, as well as contemporary artists such as Wade Guyton, who have shaped the classical medium in their own individual way and opened up new perspectives or even exploded the boundaries of painting and thus revolutionized it. The room with large-format paintings by the American artist Mark Bradford from the Daros Collection is an excellent addition to the exhibition.
