On the Wolf site, an innovation location near the SBB train station has been created in 2019 in cooperation between the canton of Basel-Stadt and the SBB: The Smart City Lab Basel.
Event details
In the former freight halls and on the outside areas of the site, more than 60 partners from business, science and administration are working on innovative projects that promote sustainable urban development, especially in the areas of mobility and city logistics - through cooperation, dialog and knowledge exchange in a shared space.
On a guided tour of the Smart City Lab Basel, you will experience innovation up close: Get to know future-oriented startups such as UpVolt, Natürlich Unverpackt or Kurierzentrale during your visit. Be inspired by their environmentally friendly concepts that focus on recycling and upcycling, plastic-free shopping and consumption, and the promotion of sustainable mobility thanks to bicycle deliveries. Discover the Community Space and the so-called Test Space, i.e. the workshops and the think tanks of the partners of the Smart City Lab Basel. In the exhibition area, information will be provided on various pilot projects as well as on an architectural model of the planned urban development of the Wolfs freight station into the "smartest area in Switzerland".
The Lab also has an event space. Here, events on the topic of Smart City take place on a regular basis. You can also rent the approx. 1000 m2 hall for your own events.
