City tours in Basel

Effective since 13 September 2021:

Individuals aged 16 and over must present a COVID certificate and an official ID to participate in tours in indoor areas.

Private guided tours for groups

Basel Tourism organizes exclusive private guided tours for groups in 14 different languages and on 50 different topics.

  • In addition to public guided tours for groups, Basel Tourism also organizes private guided tours for groups

  • You can purchase all tickets for public guided tours in advance online. For last-minute reservations, tickets can also be purchased directly from Tourist Information, provided there is availability.

    For the “Novartis Campus” and “Hinter Schloss und Riegel” guided tours, you must register at least one and two weeks in advance respectively. 

  • Unfortunately, tickets which have already been purchased cannot be transferred or refunded. 

  • The Treasure hunts with Basil and Inspector Basil adventure tours can be booked at any time. You don’t need to register. All the documentation is available at our tourist information point. Once you’ve received the documents you can begin, and you can break off the tour whenever you like and continue at another time.

    If you take the “Treasure hunts with Basil”, please note the operating hours of the Münster “Leu” ferry.

    For the “Inspector Basil” tour, please note the opening hours of Confiserie Bachmann, Blumenrain 1.
