Strolling Sundays

On the three Sundays after Fasnacht, known as «Bummel-Sonntage», the cliques relive the past «three most beautiful days» and, in a final procession, bid Mistress Carnival «adieu and goodbye – until next year!».

Without masks and costumes but smartly turned out, the clique members meet on the Sunday morning for a special programme or an excursion with a hearty lunch. From 4-10 p.m. they are then permitted to play the Carnival music again in the centre of the city. They meet, greet each other and stroll through the streets and alleys playing music before the pipes and drums are hidden away again from the public for the rest of the year.
