Located in the heart of the Old Town, GGG Basel’s Schmiedenhof is transformed into a wonderful Christmas haven during the run-up to Christmas, making visitors feel like they are in a magical world of illuminated Christmas trees.

A magnificent main tree and three copses comprising smaller illuminated trees make the magical courtyard at GGG Basel’s Schmiedenhof shine in unique splendour. This space has been created for you by public library GGG Stadtbibliothek Basel and the 1777 restaurant, making the Schmiedenhof one of the places to be at Christmas.
A sleigh and reindeers, two warming fire pits, and other festive decorations also await you. What’s more, you can enter a raffle to win surprise gifts from the Wyniger Group by leaving your contact details in a “gift box”, with three winners to be drawn at the end of the magical courtyard campaign.
Beautifully decorated tables at the Schmiedenhof invite you to savour the delicacies freshly prepared for you by the 1777 restaurant’s kitchen team. The traditional mulled white wine served here is not to be missed!
