Shop with a local mit Anne Demierre Schlaeppi.

Anne Demierre Schlaeppi is originally from French-speaking Switzerland and has lived in Basel for over 30 years. She has come to know and love the city.

“In my spare time, I enjoy browsing through the shops and I like to buy clothes and home accessories that are made in Switzerland. Most of these shops are in the Old Town of Basel, which offers an ideal combination of shopping and sights. I also like to visit the Kunstmuseum or the Museum der Kulturen, as well as the Papiermühle in the charming St. Alban district. These museums have a range of great gift ideas and hand-made paper products. I’d love to show you the many delightful shops and interesting places in Basel.”

Shop with a local mit Diana Blank.

Diana Blank was born and raised in Basel, where she’s been living in the Old Town for more than 30 years. She enjoys the village atmosphere of its narrow streets but also appreciates the privilege of having a wide range of shops, boutiques, restaurants and museums on her doorstep.

“I regularly discover new, exciting pop-up shops during my shopping tours of the market and local grocery stores. Basel’s Old Town is home to lots of shops offering unique clothing and jewellery by local designers, but it’s also worth checking out the various department store chains. For me, every shopping tour is also a bit of a sightseeing tour, just without the historical details. I’d love to share my shopping highlights of Basel – and my other highlights of the city – with you. You’re welcome to tell me your shopping requests in advance so I can put together a shopping tour that meets your needs.”
