Roche's "Building 1" can rightly be labelled the modern landmark of Basel since it is the tallest building in Switzerland and visible well beyond the city boundaries.

Measuring 178 metres in height, the building designed by architects Herzog & de Meuron was completed in 2015 and houses the offices of the pharmaceutical company, which were previously scattered around the city. But the ambitious project is not finished yet: in 2021, the tower is set to be joined by an even taller high-rise, measuring a colossal 205 metres.
