The organisational structure of the Christmas in Basel
Christmas in Basel attracts visitors from all over the world. With around 600,000 visitors every year, it is becoming an increasingly important event for the city, generating sales of around CHF 25 million for the city's shops, restaurants and hotels. Since 2010, Christmas in Basel has been organised by the Christmas in Basel Association.

With the annual Christmas market, various Christmas lights, events and marketing of the Christmas city of Basel, the Christmas in Basel Association is committed to the continued existence and further development of this feast for the senses.
The quality of Christmas in Basel can only be maintained at its current level thanks to the kind support of sponsors and patrons, as well as voluntary contributions from Basel's retailers.
The volunteer-run Christmas in Basel Association is responsible for organising Christmas in Basel. The Association works to allow representatives from industry, trade associations and public authorities to pursue the interests of Christmas in Basel. The Basel City Trade Association, Basel Tourism, retailers, Industrielle Werke Basel, and the Department of External Relations and Location Marketing of the Department of Presidential Affairs of the Canton of Basel-Stadt are all represented on the Board. This structure promotes synergies and allows ever more efficient communication.
