Description
In the far south-west of Germany, nestled in the sunny Markgräflerland region, lies Lörrach – surrounded by Basel, Alsace, the Vosges mountains and the Black Forest. The town in the tri-border area is known for its diverse range of cultural activities and shops. The youth hostel is located on the edge of the forest between the districts of Lörrach-Stetten and Lörrach-Salzert – just three kilometres from the town centre. The extensive forest paths right outside the door are perfect for walking and hiking. Sports enthusiasts are well catered for at the site – with table tennis tables (indoor and outdoor), an astroturf basketball and volleyball court, and a football area. A barbecue area with hut is available for hire for social gatherings in the evening. The Laguna Badeland water park (Weil am Rhein), an adventure climbing garden and a woodchip trail are all nearby. Some parts of the building are suitable for wheelchair users.
Conditions/extras
A paid membership is required to stay in the youth hostel, which can be purchased on arrival. The building has a lift and step-free access. Cycling enthusiasts are also well catered for, with bike hire just four kilometres away and four spaces in the lockable bike room. A repair service and a drying room are also available.
