Basel's famous Fasnacht Carnival begins on the Monday following Ash Wednesday with the “Morgestraich” lantern parade at 4 a.m. on Monday morning, when the city is plunged into darkness and the Fasnacht Cliques take control for the three-day event. On this tour you will discover everything there is to know about Basel's famous Fasnacht Carnival, from its origins to the present day.
