Smart City Lab Basel: Connect. Develop. Test. Experience.

Basel Highlights

Description

In 2019, the Canton of Basel-City and the Swiss Federal Railways SBB established an innovation hub on the Wolf site close to the Swiss SBB railway station: the Smart City Lab Basel. The former warehouses and outdoor area of the Wolf site are now a place where over 60 partners from the business community, science and the public sector work on innovative projects that will promote sustainable urban growth, in particular in the areas of mobility and logistics, through cooperation, communication and knowledge transfer.

You can experience innovation in person on a tour of the Smart City Lab Basel, where you can visit start-ups such as upVolt, Natürlich Unverpackt and the KurierZentrale. Be inspired by their environmentally friendly concepts, which focus on recycling and upcycling, plastic-free shopping and consumption, and promoting sustainable mobility with bicycle deliveries. Discover the community space and test space - the workshops and think tanks of the Smart City Lab Basel partners. In the exhibition space, you can find information on a range of different pilot projects and an architectural model of the planned urban development of the Wolf freight depot into Switzerland's smartest site.

The Smart City Lab Basel also has its own event space, where events on the theme of smart cities are held regularly. You can also rent the roughly 1000 m2 space for your own event.

Discover the Wolf warehouses and join us to experience today the Basel of tomorrow.

The tour is recommended for people aged 12 and over.

Why not follow up your tour with an aperitif or coffee and cake? The offers of Natürlich Unverpackt are available for groups of 10 people or more and for smaller groups on request.
