Vogel Gryff is the most important public holiday in Kleinbasel. The customs are still practised today. Once a year, the "Wild Maa" (wild man) travels down the Rhine on his raft and is received by the "Leu" (lion) and "Vogel Gryff" (griffin).
After a four-year renovation period by architects Herzog & de Meuron, one of the world’s best concert halls is now restored to its full splendour: welcome to the Stadtcasino Basel, the pinnacle of musical culture in the three-countries region.
This self-guided FoodTour will take you to places that are a little bit different. The tour, which lasts around three hours, will take you away from the usual tourist attractions and give you the opportunity to get to know “iconic Basel” – and enjoy it slowly.
