Previously, the Alte Kraftwerk - the former power plant - was used only to build generators. Today, the interplay of size, character and atmosphere lends the venue its extraordinary flair and makes it an ideal location for unforgettable events. The building's architecture is particularly striking: the highlights of the Alte Kraftwerk are a stationary Faraday cage and a craneway that can carry around 40 tonnes. The historic factory site offers companies, associations and individuals space for art and culture or conventions.
The former Alte Kraftwerk is situated at the heart of a lively, urban district in Basel, which has undergone considerable change in recent years. Formerly the domain of industry, the Alte Kraftwerk is now a historic monument.
The concept "Space for People & Space for Emotions" stands for the development and revival of historic cultural buildings. Formerly forgotten structures will be brought back to life and will delight guests with their impressive atmosphere.
