From 17 March to 21 July 2013, the Kunstmuseum Basel will be hosting a comprehensive retrospective, which has been compiled from various Basler collections. For the first time, prestigious Picassos from both the Kunstmuseum Basel and the Fondation Beyeler will be exhibited together. Works from local private collections will be displayed, some of which are being shown publicly for the first time and complement the Museum's collection perfectly. A documentary of films and photographs portray the legendary "Picasso Year", 1967, in which the public voted in a referendum to secure the two paintings "Les deux frères" and "Arlequin assist" for the Kunstmuseum.
