The Beyeler Collection was given a publicly accessible location in 1997 with the construction of a museum designed by Renzo Piano. Consisting of approximately 230 works, the collection documents the approach of Hildy and Ernst Beyeler to 20th-century art and conveys central artistic aspects of classical modernism ranging from Monet, Cézanne and van Gogh to Picasso, Warhol, Lichtenstein and Bacon.
Museum opening times: Open every day, 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., Wednesdays, 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. The museum is open on Sundays and on all public holidays.
Due to collection change-over, the collection rooms are closed starting August 11 through September 26, 2014. The GERHARD RICHTER show will be fully accessible until September 7, 2014. Thank you for your understanding.
