Christmas in Basel – a winter fairy tale

Wandering through the Old Town district, you cannot fail to be enchanted by the city's magic, with its lovingly decorated buildings and its festive shop windows.

The Basel Christmas Market is known as one of the most traditional christmas markets in Switzerland. The Barfüsserplatz and Münsterplatz Christmas market has been a fixed part of the run-up to Christmas for visitors from near and far for many years.

The city centre will also feature around one hundred vibrantly decorated Christmas trees to ensure that the fairy-tale Christmas atmosphere can be felt throughout the city.
