The event is unique in Switzerland and is internationally one of the largest open-air Tattoos to take place each year.
The historical barracks in the heart of the city, on the banks of the river Rhine, form the breathtaking backdrop to the show. The Basel Tattoo is one of the few Tattoos in the world to take place in front of a barracks, the original location of such a spectacle, and this gives the occasion its authentic feel.
