Christmas in Basel – a winter fairy tale

From 24th November to 23rd December 2011 the cultural capital of Basel assumes a unique charm.

Wandering through the Old Town district, you cannot fail to be enchanted by the city's magic, with its lovingly decorated buildings and its festive shop windows. The Barfüsserplatz Christmas market has been a fixed part of the run-up to Christmas for visitors from near and far for many years.

This year for the first time there will be numerous additional stalls and extra attractions on Münsterplatz, providing a guaranteed extra helping of Christmas spirit. The city centre will also feature around one hundred vibrantly decorated Christmas trees to ensure that the fairy-tale Christmas atmosphere can be felt throughout the city.
