On your way you can take a rest in one of the small farming villages that come into view on the horizon, where you can sit in the garden of a secluded country inn and sample the local cooking with home-made bread from the wood-fired oven.
From the highest vantage points, at an altitude of more than 1'000 m. above sea level, the walker has a view across the whole of the Central Plateau to the Alpine chain which extends from the mountains of Glarus in the east to those of Fribourg in the west.
